Jennifer Tatnall
Biography:

Jennifer completed her BA in Music and Philosophy at the University of Sussex in 2008, studying under Kate Paterson from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for the three years. She continues her vocal studies with Kate and with Gordon Stewart (GSMD Vocal Coach).  Last year she studied under Jonathan Cocker at Morley College. Coaching at Morley included sessions with répétiteur Steven Maughan. For their staged scenes, her roles included Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Leonora (Fidelio) and Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi).  She was chosen to perform with the Morley Chamber Orchestra under Charles Peebles.

Last year for City Opera under Peter Crockford her roles included Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte), First Witch (Dido and Aeneas), Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore), Angelica (Orlando), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance) and Frasquita (Carmen) in their staged opera scenes.

Jennifer performed with professional company Mantissa Opera as a young artist for three years before taking a more substantial role in their concerts and operas. Her main fully staged roles include Cherubino  (Le Nozze di Figaro) and more recently Frasquita (Carmen) and Kate (Madama Butterfly). In opera highlights, her roles include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Patience (Patience) and YumYum (Mikado). 

Jennifer has also played the role of Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) for the University of Sussex Opera Society and First Spirit (Die Zauberflöte) for Village Opera. She was also a soloist with the Brompton Music Orchestra for Handel’s 'Messiah'. She is the joint winner of the 2009 Kath Topping Award and last year performed as the soloist with Kent Chamber Choir and as the soprano soloist for 'Elijah' with Gravesham Choral.  She was also the soprano soloist for Schubert’s ‘Mass in G’ for the Bromley Oecumenical Singers.

Future engagements include the role of Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Mantissa Opera and the soprano soloist for Britten’s 'Rejoice in the Lamb' and Faure’s 'Requiem' with Gravesham Choral.
